Configure User Authentication

First configure the Port Name & Usage and VLAN tabs. See Configure Port Details.

Tip

These settings appear in the Authorization section of the Summary tab.

Use this task to configure the settings for a new port, on the User Authentication tab.

The User Authentication tab is part of the taskflow for older Dell and SR-based devices.
  1. Under Authentication Options, toggle User Authentication to ON or OFF.
  2. Toggle MAC Authentication to ON or OFF.
  3. Select an Authentication Protocol from the list.
  4. Configure the settings for the additional tabs required for each selection:

    The additional tabs depend on which authentication options you enable.

    1. Select the Radius Settings tab, and configure the settings.

      Setting Description
      Default RADIUS Server Group Select an existing RADIUS server group from the Select menu, or select Add. For more information, see About RADIUS Authentication.
      Apply RADIUS server groups to devices via classification Select to use classification. For more information, see Configure Classification Rules.
    2. Select the User Profile tab, and configure the settings.

      Default User Profile Select an existing user profile from the Select menu, or select Add.
      User profile to use when authentication fails Select an existing user profile from the Select menu, or select Add.
    3. Select the Auth Priority tab, and use the up and down arrows to change the order of the authentication methods.
  5. Select REVIEW and verify the Authorization settings.
  6. Select the QoS tab, and continue configuring the port.
